Our ‘Lockdown’

We are so happy to be able to see our patients again. The closure was spent providing urgent care by telemedicine and in person, spending hours per day on webinars and prepping to make your and our post(hopefully)-COVID experience safe. First, we cleaned and painted and gave the carpets a shampoo. Sneeze guards were installed in reception, including our new ‘Pick-up Bar’! One of our doctors designed and 3D printed breath shields for all of our testing equipment. We sourced masks, face shields, gloves etc…and learned how to use them properly. We revamped all of our protocols to increase physical distancing and maintain a sanitized office. 2 air sanitizers were installed. They reportedly kill 99+% of virus in the air. Whew!

At least 2 pieces of PPE between us at all times.

Your Visit

You will notice many changes…but no change in how much we care and want to help you. We will ask you a lot of questions when you book. We are seeing far far fewer patients per day so we need to be sure to give you the appropriate appointment type with the right number of staff available to help you. Everything is being done ‘by appointment’- we want someone ready to immediately help you choose your new glasses in our frame gallery so we will be asking about your desire for new specs. You will be asked questions about COVID symptoms and exposure. We will give you instructions about your arrival- come alone if possible, wear a mask, phone us upon arrival or knock (door will be locked), sanitize/wash hands upon entry. We will try to have you come immediately into the exam room…

Choosing your new glasses will be slightly different. If done in person, you will initially be masked. Staff will wear mask and face shield. Together you will choose frames to be tried. Once seated at the table, you will be able to unmask to try on glasses. Staff will stand back. Then you will re-mask for measurements. Don’t worry if you forget all the steps…we will remind you!! We are working on a workable ‘virtual’ glasses experience…
